“I recently bought a used Mercedes Benz E-350. I loved it and enjoyed driving it until when I drained the battery and tried jump-starting it but accidentally connected the red of the jumper cable to the negative terminal of the battery in the trunk, so that when I finally connected the negative of the jumper cable to the lock ring of the trunk lid lock, it caused sparks in the battery terminal and the ring turned red hot immediately. This incident damaged the electronic controls of the car big time. I initially brought this in the San Jose Mercedes Benz dealership and they told me that I burned and damaged the fuses and main controls of the car. Not contented with their estimate, I started looking for auto repair shops that specializes in Mercedes Benz. I came across Angelo’s Performance Plus in the internet. After talking with Gus, I had my car towed to their shop in Rancho Cordova and they were able to fix it for about 1/4th of the estimate given to me in the dealership. Now my car is running like brand new again. These guys are damned good at what they are doing and I am particularly amazed at their honesty to their customers. “It might sound corny, but………….they treated me like family. So nice. So thorough. So good at what they do.
“I had purchased a used 1999 BMW 540iT wagon from a private party. Soooper kewl car. The guy I bought it from turned me onto Angelo and his family. It was a higher mileage car – remembering 150K or so – and with that, had tickey tack stuff go wrong with it (stuff that happens with older cars). Angelo and crew took care of all the stuff that would come up – at a huge savings relative to dealer prices.
“Something was not operating correctly with the transmission – a number of months after I owned it. I mentioned it to Angelo. He asked me to leave the car with him. At a substantial cost to him: removal, fix/rebuild, reinstall – and relatively small cost to me (again – versus what dealer would have charged)……………he took care of issue.
“I ended up trading the car for a pickup truck a little while later and have ………….sadly……………..never been back to say hello.
